About the Website

The ParkIt! Fort Wayne website was officially launched in March of 2009.  The website provides tips, suggestions, and incorporates Downtown events into the Downtown ParkIt! Map. This map takes into consideration the date, time, and location of the events and then reflects the estimated parking availability at the time you are using the website. This is reflected by the individual "P" logo changing color on the map. The degree of the color depends on the number of events happening in a certain proximity of one another.

This map function takes into account the best available calendar information from Downtown venues. The information is prepared in advance and will reflect parking availability based on the calendar events. Therefore, parking conditions may change for any particular event, depending on weather and unanticipated or unannounced changes in schedules not known prior to the day of the event.

Another important aspect of the website is that the Downtown ParkIt! Map reflects event schedules and conditions on a day by day basis. It does not project conditions for future dates. Therefore, it is important to use the map ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT to see what conditions are expected on that day.
